Jhang Sufi Saints

Jhang is land of Sufi Saints. Hazrat Abdur Rehman Hashmi Qureshi holds a high position and status among the Sufis of this area. He was the son of a Sahabee e Rasool (sall Allahu elehe wa aalhi wa sallam). He was not only a preacher and mujahid, but also was on great status among the Jhang Sufi Saints.

Sufi saints play a major role in the spread of Islam in Asia in general and in the region of Pakistan in particular. Many Sufi saints in Asia made their homes in different places and started preaching Islam. Many people became Muslims because of their teachings. Many great saints came to Pakistan from different parts of the world, made their homes in different cities in this region and carried out the duty of preaching.

In Lahore, Hazrat Ali bin Usman (rehmatu Alla elehe) almeroof Data Ganj Bakhsh started teaching of Islam. He died here in Lahore and buried in Lahore. Hazrat Khawaja Ghual Fareed, almeroof Ganj Shakar (rehmatu Alla elehe) stayed in Pakpatan, (a city of Punjab region) and peer Mehr Ali (rehmatu Alla elehe) in Rawalpindi region, performed the duty of preaching Islam.

Jhang is a land of sufi saints and Shorkot region of Jhang is famous for mamy sufi saints, who made this area their home and invited the people of this area to Islam. A large number of shrines all over the Shorkot tehsil, are avidence of these sufi saints.

Hazrat Abdur Rehman Hashmi Qureshi holds a high position and status among the Sufis of this area. He was not only a sufi but also he was preacher and mujahid, who remains are laid to rest in one of the ancient towns of Shorkot tehsil, at Qila Zawar. Qila Zawar was named after after a hindu personolity, but later on was named after him as Pir Abdur Rehman.

Hazrat Abdur Rehman Hashmi Qureshi was born in 27 A.H. According to his birth, he was a (tabee). His fater name was Abbas bin Rabih, who was a (sahabee). From Arab region, he came to india in 86 A.H and died in 122 A.H. Hazrat Abdur Rehman Hashmi Qureshi is buries in town Abduur Rehman, near Anmed Pur Sial. Distt, Jhang.

Hazrat Abdur Rehman Hashmi Qureshi home town is situated on the west bank of the river Chenab. In the Outside his shrine, there are many tombs and graves of his followers, Mujahideen and preachers, who not only took pert in jehad under his commond, but also perform the duty of Islamic preach in the guidence of Hazrat Abdur Rehman Hashmi Qureshi.

Hazrat Farid-ud-Din Qadri of Jhang

Hazrat Farid-ud-Din Qadri, is one of the famous personality of Jhang sufi saints. He is father of great Islamic Scholar Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Farid-ud-Din Qadri born on 1918 A.D in Kheewa Village near Jhang City. His ancestors ware the landlord of the village kheeva.

The family of Hazrat Farid-ud-Din Qadri was religious and spiritual temperament and behavior.

Two persons of their family being very spiritual persons, they gave up all their lands and properties to the family persons and some other needy persons and migrated from the village. One of them migrated to Dera Ismaiel Khan while Farid-ud-Din Qadri made his home in Jhang maghiana.

Farid-ud-Din Qadri travelled to the many cities to learn the islamic knowledge, Arabic and Persian Literature and Islamic jurisprudence. During this journey, he reached on great status of Tasawwuf. In the learning life not only he got knowledge of islamic traditional knowledge but he also get knowledge in Eastern Medicine from Lukhnow.

He has many attributes such as poet, speaker, preacher and medical practitioner and a spiritual student of Naqibul Ashraaf Hazrat Seyyed Ibrahim Saif-ud-din al Gilani of Baghdad.
